Krishna dusted the furniture diligently
The sun streamed into the early Delhi morning
As she lifted the phone on the stand to clean under it
It let out a squeak from the pulling
I listened to the sudden sound –
It struck something – a note
A familiar note somewhere within
As I felt it sink, I recognized the note
My silent deep sigh
It escaped
